6 months
Happy anniversary to us!!! 6 months ago today we stepped off of a plane and our new sons met the rest of their 'forever family'. It hasn't been easy, but, we've come a long way in a short time and everyone is settling in pretty well now. God is good.
I'd sure like to talk with you! A friend pointed me to your blog, as we are a few weeks away from heading to Addis for court. We are adopting two boys, ages 8 and 10, orphaned; they've been in institutional care for over 2 years, and I KNOW it's not going to be a road without turbulence. We were matched with these boys for several reasons, one being our family already has 7 biological children, ages 5-17, with two boys (7 and 9), and my husband and I have both spent time in Ethiopia prior to marriage. There's lots about the culture and leaving home that we understand....but the lives these boys have lived, the poverty, watching their parents die, being abandoned by the rest of their family...this will all take time, and we pray that God will "up the ante" in providing the virtues that we will need to live this out well! We live in Canada, can you tell me where you are? Cath V.
